Committees
Stanstead Abbotts Parish Council currently has three committees:
- Finance and Policy
- Maintenance and Traffic
- Planning
Finance and Policy Committee
The Finance and Policy Committee is responsible for setting and monitoring the budget, reviewing policies and procedures and making recommendations to the Parish Council on all financial matters. They also review all Grant Applications before they go to the Council for consideration.

Maintenance and Traffic Committee
The Maintenance and Traffic Committee meets as and when required and is responsible for the maintenance of the Village Playground and Meadow, the Defibrillator and the Christmas Lights. They also look at issues with speeding in the village and litter.

Planning Committee
Stanstead Abbotts Parish Council is not a planning authority which means they cant make decisions on planning applications but can object and make comments on planning applications in the parish. East Herts District Council is the planning authority for Stanstead Abbotts.
